Our all-inclusive hotel stay was complimentary, but of course, we opted for some upgrades.

Let me show you where we are, what we're up to, and how we booked this amazing trip.

Yesterday, we arrived in the Dominican Republic after a quick two-hour flight from Miami on American Airlines.

Going through customs was a breeze—it didn’t take much time at all.

Upon exiting the airport, we met with a driver I had arranged through the hotel.

Though a bit pricey at $110 for just a 20-minute ride in a standard Toyota (not even a black car), it was worth it.

With everyone outside clamoring for taxis, it was nice to avoid the chaos.

When we arrived at the hotel Hyatt Zilara, we were pleasantly surprised to find our room had been upgraded.

I had originally used points to book a junior king suite, but thanks to my globalist status, they gave us an ocean view suite instead.

Another perk?

A personalized butler, reachable via WhatsApp, who can handle any request!

(like arranging a vet visit for our dog today, a requirement in the Dominican Republic for screwworm testing)

The best part?

Everything is included.

There’s no need to constantly pull out your credit card or worry about the cost, which is especially nice by the pool as you order drinks and they bring by snacks to try.

It’s incredibly easy to relax and slip into vacation mode.

Of course, they do offer upgrade options.

For instance, last night at dinner we indulged in a beautiful Chablis and a tomahawk steak, but these are entirely optional.

You could enjoy a fantastic all-inclusive resort like this and spend very little.

We're also total suckers for the spa—I mean, we always have to get a massage.

Luckily, having global status means we get 30% off these smaller services.

I booked our stay here in Cap Cana entirely with points.

The price per room when booking was $880 (for the standard room, I’m not including the suite upgrade) and the points were 130,000

I transferred 80,000 points from chase and had the rest in my Hyatt account from stays.

From this alone (once again not even the room upgrade)

I saved $2,640

Think about the additional we are also saving in food and adult bevys 😅
