Leaving the all-inclusive in Cap Cana

…the pros and cons

In today's newsletter, I'm sharing a review of our recent stay at the Hyatt Zilara All-Inclusive in the Dominican Republic, which included the beautiful beaches of Cap Cana.

Despite our brief 3-night visit, the experience was immensely satisfying.

Here are the pros and cons of our stay to give you a transparent overview.

Pros:

  • Cleanliness and Service: The resort was spotless, and the staff was exceptionally welcoming.

  • Amenities: You never need to leave the property, thanks to the comprehensive facilities, including an excellent gym and a variety of dining options.

  • Food and Beverage: The resort boasts a diverse food selection and an impressive list of wines and champagnes, though these come with an additional cost. We enjoyed exquisite dinners at several restaurants, including the steakhouse 'Waves' and the French Polynesian 'Brando's.'

  • Exclusive Beaches and Pools: The beaches are pristine, offering an exclusive vibe, and the pools are just as inviting.

  • Location: Just 15 minutes from Punta Cana Airport, the resort is conveniently located and customs clearance was smooth.

Cons:

- Dining: While the food was generally good, the quality varied across restaurants. The Peruvian restaurant didn't quite meet our expectations, although the Peruvian ceviche was notable.

- Inconsistencies: The casual poolside dining options like cheeseburgers, fish tacos, and nachos were just okay.

Additional benefits included all-inclusive drinks with top-shelf liquor available and a personal concierge service accessed via WhatsApp for any requests, from room cleaning to transportation.

The room featured a comfortable bed, a spacious shower, and a balcony with a great view.

While there's room for improvement in the culinary offerings, the overall experience was delightful, and we're certainly considering a return visit.

Also, traveling with my dog was hassle-free, thanks to the nearby vet service at Hospetality for the necessary health checks before returning to the U.S.

Overall, Hyatt Zilara All-Inclusive offers a top-tier vacation experience that we look forward to revisiting.

Besides the Resort:

  • The airport was fairly easy coming and going

  • There is a priority pass lounge which offers plenty of room to relax prior to the flight.
